Why I BAM

I do BAM. That’s right, I BAM. I know it might sound like a dirty word, but I promise it’s not. Maybe if I phrased it as “I do Business As Mission,” it might make more sense, but let’s face it, saying “I do BAM” is a lot more fun!

In my 23 (almost 24) short years of life, I’ve been blessed with a fair amount of experience doing BAM. I’ve gotten the opportunity to start multiple BAM ventures, including Potter’s House Thrift Store, Global Restoration Trading Company, Mama Carmen’s Espresso Cafe, Potter’s House Academy, and most recently, MicroBAM Development (website coming soon).

But why does it matter? What is it? Is it Biblical? These are all questions that I usually get asked after describing what I do. Seeing as it’s one of EFN’s new areas of focus, I think it’s worthwhile it to answer some of these questions.

What’s the problem?
Churches all across the nation are birthing ministries that are geared toward serving at-risk, underserved kids. And while many of these ministries are effective in helping at-risk kids, often times these ministries lack the knowledge of how to effectively help the entire family of an at-risk child.
